생후 1년 미만의 새끼 양의 털로 만든 것이다.
가늘고 상당히 부드러운 편이다. 보온성도 우수하고 가벼워 가격도 꽤 비싸다.
대신 섬유의 강도는 떨어져서 내구성은 조금 떨어진다.
그리고 램스울로 만든 옷을 만져보면 까칠한 경우가 많다.
메리노 울 Merino Wool
호주에서 가장 많이 생산되는 종류이며 고품질의 양모로 유명하다.
일반적인 양모보다 가늘고 부드럽고, 탄력도 우수하다.

카멜 울 Camel Wool
낙타의 털로 만들며 중동과 중국이 주산지다. 양털처럼 깎아서 사용하는 경우도 있지만 보통은 4~6월 털갈이 시기에 떨어지는 털을 주로 채취한다.
떨어지는 털로 되나 싶지만, 보통 애완동물 털갈이 때 털빗으로 나오는 털의 양을 생각하면 이해가 쉽다.
중앙아시아에서 낙타를 키우는 유목민들은 빗어서 나오는 털을 가지고 즉석에서 새끼 꼬듯이 손으로 꼬아 줄을 만들기도 한다.

안데스 산맥의 고산지대에서 사는 비쿠냐란 낙타의 털로 만드는데, 생산량이 제한된 상태라 굉장히 고가에 거래된다.
비쿠냐는 1974년에 멸종위기였지만 지금은 개체수가 다소 회복되었다. 같은 양에 캐시미어의 10배를 호가할 정도로 압도적인 가격을 자랑한다.
