명칭 얘기가 나와서 말인데, 이 도시의 정식 명칭에 대한 논란이 걷잡을 수 없어지고 있어. 창립자의 혈통이 승인은커녕 도시를 '일루라이 셴'이라고 부를 리가 없지. 어쨌든 파멸은 이쪽에선 아니야. 물론 더 이상 어떤 개척자의 항구는 아니지만. 이 도시는 렐름의 경이로움이야, 계몽의 프리즘이 얼어붙은 수정 별들처럼 그 주위의 장엄한 춤으로 떠다니는 동안 첨탑들은 반짝이는 열기로 하얗게 빛나고 있어. 저것들은 나 역시도 소름 끼쳐. 가끔 사람들이 거기에 올라가기도 하거든. 우리는 사람들이 들어가고 나올 수 있을 만큼 긴 시간 동안 높은 첨탑에 '정박'하는 것을 봤어. 조그만 체구에 고개를 숙인 이들이 항상 높다란 투구를 쓴 루미네스 한 쌍과 동행해.
그래도 우리가 엘프들보다 6대 1 정돈 수적으로 우세해. 세틀러스 게인은 엘프가 아닌 인간들의 도시야. 암흑기의 파괴 속에서 마침내 희망을 찾아낸 개척자들의 도시. 루미네스는 더 나은 세상이라는 명목으로 우리에게서 도시를 빼앗아갈 수는 없어.
그들이 '고양'과 '영감'으로 우리를 질식시킬수록, 우리는 더 많은 숨을 쉬기 위해 싸우겠어. 세틀러스 게인이라는 이름은 계속 유지될 거야. 그게 우리가 선을 긋는 부분이지. 우리 모두 동의하는 부분이고, 심지어 노장들까지도 동의해 .
