찬란탑 (THE SCINTILLANT SPIRE)
콜리지에이트 아케인(Collegiate Arcane)의 마법사들은 그레이트 액슬 외곽에 솟은 높은 탑에 거주합니다.

찬란탑의 외벽에는 수많은 방어 마법이 걸려 있어, 표면에서 빛이 이상하게 튕겨 나가며 반짝이는 듯한 효과를 냅니다.

비가 많이 내릴 때면 물방울이 마법장에 부딪혀 튕겨나가며, 지면을 적시지 못합니다.


탑 내부에서는 전투마법사를 훈련하고, 전쟁 마법을 연구하며, 은밀하게는 보다 심오한 주제들도 연구합니다.

찬란탑의 각 층은 서로 다른 마법의 계열에 헌정되어 있으며, 1층에는 원초적 자연의 ‘제이드(Jade)’, 그 위에는 ‘앰버(Amber)’,

그 위로는 ‘골드(Gold)’, 그 다음은 ‘아메시스트(Amethyst)’, ‘그레이(Grey)’,

그리고 탑 꼭대기에는 ‘브라이트(Bright)’, ‘라이트(Light)’, ‘셀레스티얼(Celestial)’ 같은 ‘상위 렐름’의 마법이 자리합니다.


총장 카리 뮤라니스(Chancellor Kharee Muranis)는 찬란탑이 가진 군사적 가치를 알리려 애쓰고 있지만, 포지 평의회(Council of the Forge)는 종종 이를 탐탁지 않게 여깁니다.

마법사를 훈련시키는 데는 시간이 오래 걸리고, 화포를 만들어 병사들에게 운용시키는 것이 더 싸게 먹히기 때문입니다.

단, ‘골드(Gold)’ 마법은 예외입니다.

이 계열은 단련, 대장장이, 산업 생산 등과 밀접하게 연관되어 있어, 졸업생들은 도시의 증기 영주들(Steam Lords)에게서 끊임없는 구직 제안을 받습니다.

이들은 복잡한 산업 문제에 마법적 지름길을 찾는 데 열을 올리고 있습니다.
