황폐한 바람이 거세게 불고, 전장 아래로 카오스의 무리와 스케이븐 군세가 충돌한다

. 아르카온은 도르가르 위에 앉아, 전장을 굽어보고 있다. 멀리서 뒤틀린 와프 번개가 하늘을 가른다.

[아르카온의 내면 독백]

"또 오는군. 그 쥐들, 스케이븐.

기어오르고, 긁고, 번식하고—끊임없이 번식하지. 그들이 섬기는 역병처럼. 절망을, 욕망을, 공포를 동력 삼아 몰려드는 해일.

그들은 해충이다. 하지만 목적을 가진 해충. 위험하지. 왜냐면 그들은 명예도, 영광도 아닌 절박함에 의해 움직이기 때문이지. 배고픔,
그리고 그 누구보다도 더 큰 공포. 그들은 수치를 모른다. 잃을 영혼조차 없다. 애초에 타락한 채 태어난 존재.

그들은 전사처럼 싸우지 않는다. 군북이나 뿔피리 소리에 맞춰 행군하지 않는다.
그저 자기들끼리의 긁는 소리, 비명 같은 말소리. 불협화음, 광기, 공포.

그들은 어떤 대의명분을 외치는 것도 아니고, 스톰캐스트의 냉정한 확신과도 다르다. 그저, 지껄인다.
